About the Hospital

Siddha medicine, practised with care and time

Shri Sankara Dev Siddha Hospital and Research Center is a Siddha practice in Thiruppapuliyur, Cuddalore, where each patient is examined, listened to and advised individually.

Siddha is one of India's oldest living systems of medicine. It understands health as a balance between the body, the mind, the seasons, and a person's daily food and habits. Assessment follows traditional methods of examination, and care is shaped around the individual rather than a fixed protocol.

Consultations here are unhurried. The physician assesses each case personally, explains the traditional understanding of the complaint in plain language, and discusses what the suggested care would involve — including how long it may take and what it can and cannot address.

The aim is simple: traditional Siddha knowledge, applied responsibly to the needs of the patient in front of us.

Joint, muscle and back-related concerns

Consultation for musculoskeletal complaints such as joint pain, muscular pain and back or neck discomfort. Assessment is done in person, and care may combine internal Siddha medicines, external applications, therapy and guidance on daily routine.

Skin-related concerns

Consultation for skin complaints using traditional Siddha assessment. Care may include internal medicines, external preparations and dietary guidance, decided case by case.

General Siddha consultation, diet and lifestyle guidance

General consultation for health concerns and wellbeing, including advice on food, daily routine and seasonal regimen according to Siddha principles.

Siddha care supports the patient's overall health and is not presented as a replacement for emergency or specialist medical treatment. No outcome is promised or guaranteed. Please bring any previous reports or prescriptions to your consultation.

Varmam

A traditional Siddha practice of vital points

Varmam is a traditional Siddha therapeutic practice involving specific vital points of the body. Consultation and suitability are assessed individually.

What it is

Varmam works with defined points described in classical Siddha texts. It is applied by hand, using controlled technique, as part of a wider plan of care.

How a session works

The physician examines the patient first and decides whether Varmam is appropriate. If it is, the number of sessions and what to expect are explained before starting.

Please note

Varmam is not suitable for everyone, and response differs from person to person. Nothing is guaranteed. Tell the physician about pregnancy, recent injuries, surgery or any ongoing treatment before a session.
